‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Honest Trailer: It’s Clear ‘Deadpool’ Is All Fox Has Left
Even though it feels like ages ago,X-Men: Apocalypseactually hit theaters this past summer. It was just so forgettable that it’s hard to believe this was a movie we just saw a few months ago, That’s coming from someone whohad an immense amount of fun watching itwhile still recognizing the overwhelming number of flaws in the sequel.
However, there were plenty ofX-Menfans who just couldn’t get past how lame of a villain Apocalypse was, how boring the story turned out to be, and why none of theX-Menhad aged a day despite being a decade later thanX-Men: Days of Future Past. Now anX-Men ApocalypseHonest Trailerreally digs into what makes this sequel bad, and it doesn’t hold back anything.
Here’s theX-Men ApocalypseHonest Trailer fromScreen Junkies:
The Honest Trailer starts off by sayingDeadpoolis all 20th Century Fox has left when it comes to quality comic book movies, and it only gets worse for the sequel from there. Whether it’s Apocalypse never using what appears to be his most helpful power (disintegrating people with his mind) more than once, or just repeating the greatest hits of what the betterX-Menmovies did right, this movie just brings nothing original to the table.
Perhaps the biggest problem withX-Men: Apocalypseis how it tries to rely on Mystique as the lead, seemingly because Jennifer Lawrence is a big star. But following her flip flop yet again and struggle with being a hero as opposed to a villain is getting really tiresome, and as a character, she’s just no longer interesting enough to sustain the franchise. you may almost be sure that she’s going to turn dark again. After all, Cyclops has to become the leader of the X-Men at some point, right? Does anyone even care anymore after this?
