‘Mission: Impossible’ Sequels Release Dates Pushed Back
What’s the one thing that can slow down the constant perpetual motion of Ethan Hunt, IMF Agent? The coronavirus. Due to production halts because of the worldwide pandemic, the release dates of the two back-to-backMission: Impossiblesequels have been postponed.Mission: Impossible 7is moving from July 2021 to November 2021, whileM:I 8has been bumped from August 2022 to November 2022. This news comes with delays of several other Paramount titles, includingDungeons and Dragons,Paw Patrol, andThe Tomorrow War.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to wait even longer for theMission: Impossiblesequels release dates. Christopher McQuarrieis directingMission: Impossible 7and8back-to-back, but the production has had to shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. And as a result of that shutdown, the films have been shuffled to new release dates.Mission: Impossible 7, originally set to open July 31, 2025, will now arrive in theatersNovember 19, 2021. AndMission: Impossible 8,initially slated for July 11, 2025, is moving toNovember 4, 2022.

Newcomers to the series includeHayley Atwell,Pom Klementieff,Shea Whigham, andNicholas Hoult. And of all the recent movie delay news, this one might hit the hardest for me. I’m a bigMission: Impossiblefranchise fan, and I was very excited for these back-to-back sequels. But waiting longer for things is now the new normal, and I have to get used to it.
